In accordance with the Earth Day 2021 "Restore Our Earth" commemoration, it's time to vastly act in irder for the earth to recover. The results of a study from several global conservation organizations in 2017 stated that more than 1/3 of this global emission reduction target could be achieved by developing Natural Climate Solutions (NCS).
The NCS program covers forest and wetland protection, improved forest management, and ecosystem restoration. We need to support the government's commitment in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change, by strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships at the national, provincial and district levels. From the results of the YKAN-P3SEKPI study, the potential for reducing emissions from preventing deforestation and restoring mangroves reaches 32 MtonCO2/year. Mangroves have the power to mitigate climate change, also co-benefits in adaptation for biodiversity and economic support sustainability.
