Yolanda and Yonance Kacili are young members of the Waifuna women’s sasi group in Kapatcol Village, West Misool. The Waifuna group primarily comprises housewives aged over 30, while Yolanda is only 23, and Yonance is 22.
As part of the younger generation, they are dedicated to maintaining their active involvement in the Waifuna group to safeguard the sasi tradition and preserve the ocean resources surrounding Kapatcol Village.
Yolanda and Yonance’s love for the ocean is not just a slogan; it’s a passion that drives them to make a positive impact. Beyond their expertise as skilled divers, they actively encourage young women in Kapatcol to participate in managing sasi. They firmly believe that the involvement of the younger generation is crucial in preserving the marine sasi tradition, ensuring that the beauty and richness of the sea are safeguarded for future generations.
